Io One Earbuds With Integrated Generative AI-Powered Chatbots Open For Pre-Orders

The Io One earbuds have emerged as the latest contender to rise to the challenge of implementing artificial intelligence (AI) in a wearable form factor. This will be the second audio device from California-based startup Iyo and the first that aims to integrate AI chatbots within it. However, the company isn’t just offering it as an AI device, as the Iyo One can also serve as a standalone device for listening to music and podcasts. Currently, the earbuds are open for pre-order and the company’s website highlights that it will be shipping globally once it launches.

Io One Earbuds Pre-Order Details

According to Iyo, there are two variants of the earbuds – a Wi-Fi only version with 16GB of inbuilt storage and a Wi-Fi + LTE version with 32GB of inbuilt storage. Although the exact price of the devices has not been mentioned, the company says that the Wi-Fi-only version is expected to be priced around $599 (roughly Rs. 49,800) while the Wi-Fi + LTE model is expected to be priced at $699 (approximately Rs 58,100). Iyo One earbuds will be available in three color options Ocean, Polar and Night.

To reserve an order, people need to pay $59 (roughly Rs. 4,900) for the Wi-Fi only variant and $69 (roughly Rs. 5,700) for the Wi-Fi + LTE variant. Those who pre-book their orders will get free shipping. The pre-booking amount will also go towards the price of the device. Pre-booking can be done on the company’s website.

Io One Earbuds Specifications, Features

The website does not currently share much about the specifications of the Iyo One earphones. However, it is mentioned that the Iyo One will be equipped with a 4nm quad-core CPU. A report in PC-Tablet claims that it will be powered by Qualcomm’s S5 Gen 3 chipset, which is an AI-enabled processor. The earphones also have an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

There are two variants of the earphones – one with 1GB LPDDR4 RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage and the other with 2GB LPDDR4 RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage. The Iyo One earbuds support both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi bands and the LTE variant also supports 4G. Furthermore, the earbuds also have Bluetooth and GPS capabilities.

Talking about features, the startup claims that the Iyo One will feature private voice input, which is probably its way of mentioning independent AI-powered chatbot support. Iyo claims that these chatbots will be able to assist in reading and sending emails, messages, phone calls, navigation, music playback and more. It is also claimed that the earbuds come with built-in head tracking for a great audio experience. Additionally, it also refers to “Presence” and “Immersion” modes, possibly suggesting active noise cancellation (ANC) and transparency modes.
