Apple took the wraps off the AirPods 4 at the company’s “It’s Glowtime” event on Monday. Its latest wearable audio product brings improvements to the listening experience, with the addition of the introduction of active noise cancellation (ANC) on the base AirPods. They also support features that take advantage of machine learning and gesture controls. With the debut of the AirPods 4 at Apple Park, the Cupertino-based tech giant has also switched to USB Type-C on the AirPods Max, replacing the proprietary Lightning port on the headphones.

AirPods 4 are available in two variants; With and without the ANC. AirPods 4 (without ANC) are priced at Rs. 12,900 in India, while the AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation are priced at Rs. 17,900. Apple’s latest audio product is available for pre-order today, with sales starting September 20.

AirPods 4 now come with active noise cancellation (ANC) in addition to a dedicated transparency mode – features that were previously limited to the AirPods Pro (2nd generation) and AirPods Max. They are powered by Apple’s H2 chip and feature a new acoustic architecture that is claimed to improve sound quality. AirPods 4 also offer personalized spatial audio, adaptive audio, and conversational awareness.
Apple’s latest TWS earphones also come with machine learning, allowing the user to take advantage of gestures like nodding to pick up a call. They also feature voice isolation and force sensors, similar to the flagship AirPods Pro (2nd generation). The company has introduced a new USB Type-C charging case that offers a total of 30 hours of playtime. Additionally, AirPods 4 now also support wireless charging capability.
AirPods Max in new color options
Apart from AirPods 4, Apple has also introduced new colorways for AirPods Max – its over-the-ear headphones. They are now available in Blue, Midnight and Starlight colors and offer support for the same features as the original model, including personalized spatial audio.
The tech giant has also updated its AirPods Pro (2nd generation) with new health-focused features. They now come with an in-built hearing test feature that lets the wearer test their hearing ability. The AirPods Pro (2nd generation) also support hearing aid capability with the introduction of a new Noise app and personalized hearing profile options.
