Recently a lot of leaks have come out about OnePlus Watch 3. The alleged smartwatch is expected to get several upgrades over the existing OnePlus Watch 2, which was unveiled at MWC 2024 in February. Now a report has come out in which many features of smart wearables have been suggested. Notably, OnePlus is set to unveil a new color option for the OnePlus 13, OnePlus 13R, and OnePlus Buds Pro 3 at its winter launch event on January 7, 2025. However, OnePlus has not yet confirmed the release of the Watch 3. Day.
OnePlus Watch 3 design, features
A design render based on a prototype of the OnePlus Watch 3 has been shared by SmartPrix Report. It appears to be similar to its predecessor, the OnePlus Watch 2. However, the report states that the Watch 3 will get a rotating crown to provide users with a more tactile experience. The functional, rotating crown can help navigate the UI more intuitively.
The report adds that the OnePlus Watch 3’s heart rate sensor suite will be upgraded to include an electrocardiogram (ECG) feature, which is expected to help users monitor irregular heart rhythms. Availability of this feature is said to vary by region and depends on local laws.
Along with the alleged Watch 3, OnePlus is also expected to explore an LTE variant that could allow users to make calls and receive notifications directly from the Watch. However, this expected LTE option may be limited to China like the previous version.
The report says that the OnePlus Watch 3 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. It will likely come with the latest Watch OS 5 as well as RTOS. The anticipated wearable is also expected to get a larger battery.
An earlier leak suggested that the OnePlus Watch 3 could have a 631mAh-rated battery, with the usual value being 648mAh. Another previous report claimed that the smartwatch could launch in global markets alongside the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R.
