Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra specifications leaked, suggesting similar footprint to previous model: Details

Samsung had announced the Galaxy Tab S8 series of tablets along with its Galaxy S22 series in February last year. This year, its plans seem to be postponed or delayed as the tablet lineup has disappeared from its Unpacked event. Recently, we have started to see some leaks only through rumors. Thanks to recent leaks we now know that the tablets could be announced in the second half of this year and they could include Qualcomm’s latest processors. And now, we have another leak that gives more details about the upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra tablet.

According to the tipster ice universe (@UniversIce), the most high-end model of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 series, will feature similar hardware to the existing model. The dimensions of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra are expected to be similar to the existing Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. The tablet is said to measure 208.6 x 326.4 x 5.5 mm, which the tipster claims is similar to the existing model. The display of the upcoming tablet may also have similar dimensions. We can expect it to be a 14.6-inch panel with a resolution of 2,960 x 1,848 pixels (WQXGA+). No information has been leaked regarding the refresh rate.

An upgrade on the design front is the IP rating. While previous leaks had mentioned the entire Galaxy Tab S9 series getting an IP67 rating, the tipster has mentioned that the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra tablet will get an IP68 rating. The tablet is expected to weigh 737 grams, which is the same as the existing model.

Given the same dimensions, the battery capacity and charging speed also remain the same as the existing model. According to the new leak, the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is expected to pack an 11,200mAh battery, which can support 45W wired charging. This is different from the previous report, which suggested that the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra will have a 10,880mAh battery.

Previous reports also point to the new Tab model being upgraded to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The latest leak also indicates the same with the 16GB LPDDR5X RAM option, which was a variant also announced with the outgoing model. It is unclear whether Samsung will go ahead with its own customized platform for the Galaxy as it did with the new Galaxy S23 series or regular processors.
